Motions:

Abolition of Archivist
The Chair presented a motion to abolish the position of Archivist and to merge the powers and responsibilities of the position with those of the Vice-Chair. Concerns were brought up that the position of Vice-Chair was to be a “deputy of the Chairman, and to take on whatever duties and responsibilities are delegated. To give the position powers or duties which are independent of the Chair itself seems to me to be inconsistent with the customary understanding of the position.” The motion was later amended: “I motion that the office of GUM Archivist is hereby abolished, and its duties transferred to the remit of the Chair and be delegated to the Vice-Chair.”
