The Quorum entered into session at 20:41 UTC.

Discord Terms of Service

The Chair informed the delegates about the issue of Discord ToS concerning the minimum age for users of the software; thirteen years, and that due to Discord staff recently cracking down on Discord servers with underaged users, it put the GUM Discord server at risk. The Chair asked for thoughts and opinions on the matter. Delegates questioned the odds of the server being shut down due to its relatively small size. The delegate of Austenasia in reply stated that any user with an ill will to the GUM could easily report the server to Discord staff, making it more likely for it to be shut down. The Supreme Judge stated that the stability of the GUM was their main concern, and that following Discord’s ToS should be a priority.

The Chair motioned the nation must have a delegate that complies with the Terms of Service of the platform the GUM uses to conduct its business. The Quorum divided:

The motion passed.

The Chair motioned that in accordance with Article IV, chapter 1.a. it must be understood that for a member state to be capable to sign and ratify the Charter they must have at least one citizen who complies with the Terms of Service of the platform the GUM uses to conduct its business and state this in their application.

The Chair motioned that in accordance with PD025 and PD026 that defines the articles of the Charter relating to duties of full members and the terms of the Charter in regards to membership, it is to be recognised that nations that do not have delegates and cannot deliver delegates that comply with the terms of service of the platform the GUM uses is a ground for removal as it violates the terms of the Charter as per Chapter V.a.i.
