The delegate for Theodia argued in favour of approval voting. The delegate for Adammia argued in favour of instant-runoff voting. The merits of both systems were debated.

The Vice-Chair argued for a separate ticket voting system. The delegate for Adammia argued for the status quo, but stated that he would be amenable to a joint ticket system. The Chair stated that he would endorse any system other than the status quo.

The Chair put the question that the GUM should adopt a Joint Ticket system for GUM Chair and Vice-Chair elections.

The Chair moved that the full membership of the Republic of Yu-Xia be confirmed.

The Republic of Yu-Xia was promoted to Full Membership of the Grand Unified Micronational.

The Chair issued Executive Proclamations recognising that the observership period of the Greater Klitzibürg Empire had expired and that it was no longer an observer, and that the Union of Nova-Occitania was taken to have renounced the Charter and was no longer a member state.

The Secretary of Diplomacy and Recruitment announced that the Sister Cities project was officially up and running again, having been put on hold following the passing of the delegate for Posaf, and explained how member states could take part. The Chair encouraged member states to take part. The Chair, along with the delegates for Adammia, the Serene Beaconite Republic, Swivia, New Rizalia, New Virginia and Paravia, expressed condolences to the delegate for Misberia with respect to the passing of Maria Birch.

The primary delegate for Iustus proposed a motion on police brutality. The Chair moved that the GUM officially supports the protests against Police Brutality that have sprung up all across the world since the death of George Floyd.

Questions to the Chair

The Vice-Chair asked the Chair why he is such a “massive legend”. The Chair responded that it was due to his good looks. The Supreme Judge asked if the Chair was aware that he was happy that the Chair had moved his nominations for Associate Justices in his absence. The Chair responded in the affirmative. The Supreme Judge asked whether the Chair and the Micronational Development Secretary would implement PR021 (Development Awards). The Micronational Development Secretary stated that they intended to go ahead with the awards around Christmas, and that an award would be named after the late delegate for Posaf.
